The struggling no. 3 network has renovated its primetime, starting with the relocation of Willie Revillame’s variety game show to noontime. The Kapatid network temporarily filled its primetime line-up with dubbed Hollywood films.
But earlier this year, TV5 had already premiered its newest fantaserye Kidlat, starring former Kapamilya heartthrob Derek Ramsay in the title role. Aired at 6:45 PM, Kidlat competes with the flagship newscasts of ABS-CBN and GMA. The ratings of the show is still way lower than second placer 24 Oras, showing that Pinoy audience still do their usual viewing habit of watching the early news.
But TV5 is expanding its drama line-up in primetime with Never Say Goodbye, a romantic drama topbilled by the one and only superstar Nora Aunor. This makes the second teleserye of the supertar on TV5 after the critically-acclaimed Sa Ngalan ng Ina.
Joining Ms. Aunor are veteran actors Cesar Montano, Alice Dixson and Gardo Versoza.
This is also the launching teleserye of two of Artista Academy‘s winners, Vin Abrenica and Sophie Albert. The two will play the central star-crossed lovers in the series, whose lives intertwined with that of the veteran stars. Playing the third wheel is acclaimed young actor Edgar Allan Guzman.
The series is slated to premiere on February 11, 2012, 7:30 PM after Kidlat.
Author’s Note: TV5 is said to be preparing for another series featuring two Artista Academy alumni, probably to be aired on primetime to further expand the network’s drama line-up.
